Monday, November 19 Tempeh Sloppy Joes (The Vegan Table) with Broccoli and French Fries Rating: 4.25

This Sloppy Joes recipe is one of our favorites. The Vegan Table was the first vegan cookbook I ever bought and we’ve made this so many times, I should know it by heart now. I make a half batch, and we normally get enough filling to make 3 sandwiches, so there’s a little leftover. It’s a great weeknight dinner because it’s so simple and quick; it’s also incredibly good. We almost always have potato wedges with it, but this time I decided to make some French fries instead. I used my mandolin to get them nice and thin, but I think they’d have been better if I made them a little bit thicker. I tossed them with a little bit of olive oil, garlic salt, pepper and some chipotle flavored Parma topping. They were pretty good. I wanted a green veggie with it, so I steamed some broccoli for myself. Seth had leftover collards with his.
