Friday, February 22 El Azteca Mexican Restaurant Rating: 3.5

We found out at some point on Friday that is was National Margarita Day. Who knew? Anyway, with a holiday like that and it being the official start of Seth’s Birthday Weekend, we decided we had no choice but to go out for Mexican. Now, El Azteca isn’t one of those places you go for the food. You go for the margaritas – which are strong, huge and served in plastic up for extra classiness- and the patio in nice weather. It was cold and drizzly, but we braved the weather and walked over (it’s across the street from us). I went with the standard vegan choice at most Mexican restaurants – veggie fajitas. It comes with a nice side plate of refried beans (I’m not a huge fan of those), lettuce, tomatoes, guac and rice. (The beans and rice here are vegan-safe.) Seth got the refried bean burritos. Nothing really special here, but a pretty good meal. I brought the leftover veggies home to use on nachos later in the weekend.

While we LOVE that you tried El Azteca, we'd love to invite you to our flagship store, the Buckhead location. While Ponce is great, our Buckhead store has much better food (and drinks too :)! Our menu caters to more vegetarian options and the quality is much better (that's because the Ponce location is run by a seperate owner, whereas our Buckhead and other 3 stores are the original owner of 34 years!)

Let us know if we can send you a coupon!
