Green Sprout Restaurant
Rating: 4
So I’m skipping a few days of meals for a couple of reasons: we forgot to take pictures at the restaurant on Tuesday & Wednesday’s soup wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. We’ve been so busy getting ready for Halloween (I make our costumes most of the time) and I was also prepping to go out of town to visit my beautiful niece for her birthday. I asked Seth to stop and get some take-out on his way home so I could keep sewing, and he suggested Green Sprout. We love the food there and it’s very reasonably priced, so it’s a great choice for a quick, emergency dinner. I got the Kung Pao tofu, which has recently become my favorite thing from there and Seth got the Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables and Tofu, which is what I used to get for lunch from there when my office was a few short blocks away.
If you’re not from Atlanta and aren’t familiar with Green Sprout, it’s a vegetarian Chinese restaurant in midtown. Most of the menu is vegan, and items that have eggs in them have a little egg-shaped icon next to them. The food there is really good and it’s pretty much a staple meeting place for local vegans. The menu is pretty extensive and has several vegan meat options in addition to the tofu. You must try the Wok-Seared Chicken. It’s delicious. It’s pretty spicy, too, so be prepared for that if you decide to give it a go.

Whooboy, do I love Green Sprout! I tend to always go for the wings and the Empire Chicken, and if I'm feeling super decadent, I order a mango bubble tea, too!

They had bao last time we were there and I didn't notice it on the specials board until we were about to leave! I'll have to try the Empire Chicken - I thought the General Tso's was a bit too sweet and that made me sad. But I've loved everything else I've tried. So. Good.
